WISPA Spotlight: Matt Larsen, Vistabeam

SPOTLIGHT—Vistabeam’s Matt Larsen recently posted to herald an important victory of his: a hard-fought Nebraska state grant to build fiber in western Nebraska. It shows the true agility of WISPs to meet the demands of today’s ever-changing broadband landscape.

Unlike other segments of the telecom industry that depend entirely on government support to survive, Matt and Vistabeam have gone out and competed for what makes sense to their business model and the community they’re working to serve. The grants, though significant, are just one tool among others—the main being private dollars—to help them grow and expand.
