WISPA Opens WISPAPALOOZA Convention in Las Vegas, Celebrates Hometown ISPs
Las Vegas, NV, October 13, 2025 – WISPA convened its annual WISPAPALOOZA convention today, bringing together thousands of wireless, fiber, cable, hybrid, and managed services providers to celebrate America’s hometown ISPs and their integral role in delivering broadband to millions of Americans in the country’s heartland. WISPAPALOOZA runs from October 13 – 16, 2025, at the Paris and Horseshoe resorts located on the Las Vegas strip.
Built on the theme – Build, Compete, Grow – WISPAPALOOZA offers attendees:
- Insider access to the latest policy updates, hands-on training from industry leaders, and a first look at groundbreaking technologies to make ISPs grow.
- A front-row seat to the newest breakthroughs shaping the future of connectivity.
- The largest broadband-focused expo hall in the country, with close to 200 product, software and service exhibitors.
- Over 50 panel presentations and education sessions from industry experts and thought leaders.
- And a convenient one-stop shop to network and share notes with other providers in the evolving ISP industry.
The event comes at a time of tremendous technological and policy change shaping broadband deployment in America.
On June 6th, following three years of sustained advocacy by WISPA’s members, NTIA announced a BEAD program course correction that realigned the program to the technology-neutral bipartisan intent of Congress, opening the program to small rural innovators while also protecting operators already delivering reliable broadband. And on July 4th, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act became law, which reauthorized the FCC’s spectrum auction authority but also raised questions about what and when to auction, including bands now in use by WISPs. These events, as well as ongoing technological advances in connectivity – such as the advent of ubiquitous, LEO-provided broadband, and AI – present challenges and opportunities for hometown ISPs.
“ISPs, and certainly WISPs, have been working hard to deploy broadband to the unserved for many years,” said David Zumwalt, President and CEO of WISPA. “As full connectivity finally comes within reach, how will hometown ISPs maintain and extend their competitive edge? Through over-the-top services? Better workflows? Improved metrics? Public/private partnerships? Upgraded equipment, or an expanded portfolio of technologies?
“WISPAPALOOZA provides an essential resource for ISPs to find answers to these and myriad other questions guiding their growth and deployment of broadband solutions for millions of Americans in hard-to-serve rural, under-resourced and Tribal communities across our nation,” added Zumwalt.
