WISPA Congratulates Senator Ted Cruz, New Commerce Committee Chairman
The following statement may be attributed to Matt Mandel, VP of Government Affairs, WISPA – The Association for Broadband Without Boundaries:
Washington, DC, January 9, 2025 – WISPA would like to congratulate Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for becoming Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. Cruz is a fierce champion of keeping government bureaucracy low, focused on solving challenges which minimize taxpayer exposure and waste. To this end, Cruz has been an outspoken advocate for ensuring that broadband deployment support is not squandered through needless overbuilding, complex processes which keep viable players and solutions on the sidelines, and attainment of costly non-communications policy objectives which undermine limited funding.
The Commerce Committee is integral to Congress’ work to guide the U.S. economy, helping boost broad innovation, jobs and growth. Senator Cruz’ deep knowledge and support of the commercial broadband industry and his steadfast leadership will play a core role in that work, and we look forward to helping him and his Committee deliver results which make American broadband consumers’ lives in all corners of the country more connected, safe and prosperous.
