We were all extremely disappointed at having to cancel WISPAMERICA 2020. Events have proven that this was the right decision, but that has not made the aftermath any easier on any of us. We would like to thank you for the patience you have shown as we here at WISPA have been working out how we would deal with the financial fallout from this choice.
Hundreds of millions of dollars are flowing into the fixed wireless industry as a result of WISPAs advocacy efforts. Hundreds of millions of dollars have already made their way to your collective bottom line as a result of WISPAs trade shows, events, and primacy as a convening place for the fixed wireless industry.
Even today, FCC Chairman Pai announced that, as a result of WISPAs advocacy, he is planning on making 850 MHz of new unlicensed spectrum available in the 6 GHz band. This will have untold positive effects for our industry.
But the reality is that WISPA is at a crossroads. Cancelling WISPAMERICA put a significant dent in our revenue and means we may have to scale back the efforts that brought you those benefits. But we can continue, with your help. Please consider contributing your sponsorship and booth fees and know that youve contributed to the organization that has already and will continue to benefit your bottom line.
Weve put together a variety of options for you.
Tier #1. This tier begins the picking order, with the other tiers moving in sequence i.e., Tier #1 chooses first; Tier #5 last. If you donate your booth and sponsorship dollars, you will be placed in Tier 1, in the same relative picking position (as from the prior system) to others who have chosen similarly. You will receive the attendee list.
Tier #2. If you donate your booth, you will be placed in Tier #2, receive an attendee list, and retain your picking order relative to others who have chosen similarly.
Tier #3. If you defer your refund at 65% toward the cost of WISPAPALOOZA and 40% (remaining and a bonus 5%) towards WISPAMERICA 2021 you will be placed in Tier #3, receive an attendee list, and retain your picking order relative to others who have chosen similarly.
Tier #4. If you defer your refund toward the costs of WISPAPALOOZA, you will be placed in Tier #4 and retain your spot relative to others who have chosen similarly.
Tier #5. All others will be placed in the last picking tier, relative to others who have chosen similarly.

As you know, we have had a strict no-refund policy regarding cancellation of tickets, booths, sponsorships and related fees paid to WISPA regarding attendee and vendor participation in WISPAMERICA. Since the event was cancelled, and in light of the extraordinary events surrounding the spread of COVID-19, we are modifying this policy for WISPAMERICA 2020 only. In order to be eligible for a refund, a WISPAMERICA 2020 attendee must request a refund request through the WISPA website. And, in order to minimize administrative burden on WISPA staff, entities seeking a refund must submit their request by April 17, 2020 at 11:59 PM EDT. Refund requests occurring after that date will be denied.
To the vendors who have donated generously donated the cost of their booth, and who have given additional, substantial donations to WISPA at this time.
