SAF Tehnika for the second time will be the Platinum Sponsor of Animal Fam 2012 - annual forum for wireless ISPs

SAF Tehnika (NASDAQ:SAF1R), a premier carrier-class licensed and unlicensed microwave radio manufacturer for the second time in a row will be a Platinum Sponsor of Animal Farm 2012 - an annual forum for wireless ISPs, that will be held in Salt Lake City, USA. The event is an excellent opportunity to find technical trainings and activities designed for groups from varied backgrounds, as well as to meet and discuss topics of common interest. On the last year`s  bakeoff competition SAF Gigabit Ethernet microwave system CFIP Lumina passed the tests with great results and demonstrated an impressive data throughput among licensed and unlicensed microwave radio links.

This year SAF Tehnika will participate in the bakeoff competition with two products - SAF FreeMile 24 GHz and CFIP Lumina all-outdoor radio. All equipment will be tested for latency, packets per second, and throughput (Mbps). The radios will be categorized based on frequency, licensed vs. unlicensed, and price. Once testing will be completed, results will be presented and offered for discussion.  The discussion will be an open forum format to allow for more specific questions concerning the results.

On the morning of February 2, at 10:00 - 10:30 Mr. Kristaps Rikans from SAF North America will present the "Myths and Facts about Licensed Microwave Radio Performance", which will  contain answers to the most frequently asked questions our sales and technical people have encountered with. Some customers are making network deployment decisions without complete understanding of radio performance parameters, measurements, and various vendor marketing. Which criteria are the most important when speaking about performance claims, reliability or cost savings? For example, do really capacity licensed point to point  links require large and expensive antennas? And does higher TX power mean better link availability?  At the end of the day - 5:30, evening drinks will be served in the bar.
