CONNECTING RURAL AMERICA: A Teleforum on Practical Solutions for Closing the Rural Digital Divide

Tuesday, July 30th, 1pm – 2pm EDT

Tuesday, July 30th, 1pm – 2pm EDT
To register, please email ACLP@nyls.edu

Abstract:
Millions of Americans living in rural parts of the country remain without adequate access to high-speed Internet connectivity. This is truly unacceptable, and yet it is a problem that has persisted for decades. Countless policy proposals, subsidy programs, and other efforts have been deployed in an attempt to close this digital divide. What actually works and what is a waste of resources? What more needs to be done and by whom?

Please join WISPA, the Advanced Communications Law & Policy Institute at New York Law School and the Federal Communications Bar Association for a frank discussion that will focus on identifying best practices, grounded in real world actions, for making sure rural America can harness the transformative power of broadband.

Discussants:
Senator Eric Koch, Indiana State Legislature
Vice Chairman Chris Nelson, South Dakota Public Utilities Commission
Claude Aiken, President, WISPA

Moderator:
Michael Santorelli  Director, ACLP at New York Law School
