WISPA: In The Midst Of A Transformation
Trina Coffey, WISPA Director of Operations
The industry landscape is changing. Evolving technology is creating opportunities and forecasts for WISP operators and vendors look promising. At the same time, never-ending regulatory shifts pose significant challenges that affect your bottom line and cannot be ignored.
But I’m not penning this message to specifically address those topics. WISPA is lucky enough to have an experienced board of directors, expert consultants, and an engaged membership whose expertise I will defer to on such matters.
What I would like to tell you about, is how WISPA as an organization is evolving with the changing landscape to meet the industry’s challenges, while seeking new ways to expose our members to its opportunities.
For years we’ve advocated for you, and we’ve sought to deliver the best possible educational and networking opportunities available. But in 2017 we set out to go beyond that. And now, WISPA itself is in the midst of a transformation.
In the latter part of 2017, you may have noticed the aesthetic changes like our new logo and other branding modifications, but the changes go well beyond cosmetics. We’ve increased our social media presence with the launch of WISPA’s YouTube Channel, and WISPA Group on Facebook. And we made WISPA.org’s news and information the centerpiece of our digital efforts - while making the website easier to navigate. We hired a new Marketing Associate, a National Spectrum Advisor, and throughout 2018 we’ll be instituting strategies aimed at adding value to your membership – like The WISPA Report.
Our membership is growing. Our shows are growing. And our collective efforts are increasingly becoming a force to be reckoned with in our nation’s capital. We have great things in store for 2018 and I believe it will be an incredible year for our industry and association, and I look forward to continuing my part in helping your business and association grow.
Keep an eye out for much more to come!
