Washington, DC – On behalf of hundreds of fixed wireless broadband providers serving almost 4 million customers across America, the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association (WISPA) is applauding the U.S. Senate’s confirmation today of Commissioners Brendan Carr and Jessica Rosenworcel to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Commissioner Carr, who first joined the FCC as an attorney adviser in 2012 and currently serves as the FCC’s general counsel, was nominated by President Trump in June. Carr will fill the remainder of a term that is set to expire in 2018. Commissioner Rosenworcel is being reappointed to the role after serving at the FCC from 2012 to 2016.
“On behalf of our members, WISPA looks forward to working with Commissioners Carr and Rosenworcel to develop policies that encourage the accelerated, cost-effective, deployment of fixed-broadband to rural America,” said WISPA President Alex Phillips.
