WISPAMERICA 2018 FAQ

Visitors sometimes have trouble with the registration process. A number of variables make it difficult to list a solution that's relevant to everyone and every situation. We will do our best to answer typical questions on this page, however, if the answer to your question isn't here, please email WISPA staff at showinfo@wispa.org and we will gladly help.

Question: I have a suggestion for an agenda topic or am interested in speaking, moderating, or participating as a panelist; who do I contact?

Question: Does my company have to be a WISPA member to attend?
Answer: NO. WISPA endeavors to engage the entire WISP industry with our legislative, networking, and educational efforts. We believe that it's beneficial for all service providers - including municipalities, electric companies, rural telcos and others, to take part in our events. As a member benefit, registration prices are lower than those for non-members, so if you are a non-member and are bringing more than one attendee, it would be beneficial to Join WISPA before you register.

Question: Why do I have to pay a fee to register?
Answer: WISPA conferences provide great networking and educational opportunities, wonderful food, and numerous receptions. We take the approach of making your experience memorable; and organizing a conference such as this is extremely expensive. And while conference exhibitors and sponsors contribute to offset these costs, it's still necessary to charge registration fees to ensure a robust event that members and non-members alike can be proud to have attended. Unlike many conferences that are organized by professional companies on a pure revenue producing strategy, WISPA's show revenue is used to lobby the FCC, Congress, and other agencies on behalf of our industry.

Question: Will there be Internet access at the conference?
Answer: Yes, throughout the conference breakout rooms and exhibit hall.

Question: Is there free shuttle service from the airport?
Answer:  Yes, The Birmingham Sheraton Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport.

Question: I am a WISPA member, but when I login to register, I am presented a non-member rate. Why is this?
Answer: It is possible that your membership has expired and you need to renew. Please call the office at 866-317-2851 ext. 103 and speak to Gary Helmers regarding your account.
