WISPAMERICA 2018 FAQ

Often visitors have trouble with the registration process. Many variables make it difficult to find a registration solution that is simple for everyone and every capacity. We will do our best to address many questions on this page. If you still need assistance, contact the WISPA staff at showinfo@wispa.org and we will help you out.

Question: Does my company have to be a WISPA member to attend?
Answer: NO. WISPA tries to represent the entire WISP industry with our lobbying and conference efforts. It is beneficial for all service providers using unlicensed, lightly licensed and licensed frequency bands to participate including municipalities, electric companies, rural telcos and many others. Bringing together all potential users of these bands helps us all to utilize spectrum more efficiently. Non-member rates are $200 more than member rates, so if you are a non-member and are bringing more than one attendee, it would be beneficial to Join WISPA before you register.

Question: Why do I have to pay a fee to register?
Answer: WISPA conferences provide great networking opportunities, wonderful food and numerous receptions. We take the approach of making your experience memorable. Putting on a conference such as this is extremely expensive. Westrive to make your experience memorable, but putting on a conference such as this is extremely expensive. Although our exhibitors and sponsors contribute considerably to offset our expenses, we still need to charge registration fees which make-up the rest.Unlike many conferences that are put on by professional companies on a pure revenue producing strategy, WISPA can assure you that revenues generated from our events are used to lobby the FCC, Congress and other agencies. This, in turn, creates a better regulatory environment which improve our member's businesses.We appreciate your support of our conferences and we give back in ways which you may be unaware.

Question: Will there be Internet access at the conference?
Answer: Yes, throughout the conference breakout rooms and exhibit hall.

Question: Is there free shuttle service from the airport?
Answer:  Yes, The Birmingham Sheraton Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport.

Question: I am a WISPA member, but when I log in to register, I am presented a non-member rate. Why is this?
Answer: It is possible that your membership has expired and you need to renew. Please call the office at 866-317-2851 ext. 103 and speak to Gary Helmers regarding your account.
